The Country Coordinator for Greece for the EU Climate Pact is organising the insightful Webinar “Promoting Sustainable Agriculture & Food Security in Greece”, that will take place on Tuesday, 29 April 2025, from 15:30 – 17:15.
The key objectives are to present and discuss with experts the pressing issues of Food Waste, as Greece remains 3rd in the European Union in total wasted food, Food Security, and Sustainable Agriculture. We will delve into how Food Waste manifests in Greece, highlight examples of best practices and showcase methods to address the problem, to minimise the use of natural resources and reduce one of the contributors to greenhouse gas emissions. We will explore the four core factors that affect Food Security (use, access, availability and stability) and their correlation to climate change. Moreover, we will analyse how Sustainable Agriculture can scale up sustainable and climate-resilient practices in Greece, by using innovative farming techniques such as regenerative agriculture, smart farming and more.
