On May 26, 2026, a national event was held as part of the Women in Solidarity for Energy (WISE) project, in collaboration with the European Climate Pact in Greece and the POWERINGCITIZENS project.
Bringing together public institutions, research organisations and civil society, this one-day event served as a structured dialogue among stakeholders and decision-makers working on the social dimension of climate transition in Greece.
The discussion, which was moderated by Alice Corovessi, Managing Director INZEB, focused on the relationship between climate change, energy poverty and social vulnerability, exploring in particular how energy poverty affects marginalised groups, including single and elderly women, single mothers, and women of migrant and refugee backgrounds, increasing the challenges they face related to energy consumption, living conditions and the just and clean energy transition.
During the event, the activities, findings, outputs, resources produced and the experiences from the implementation of the WISE project in Greece were presented and discussed. Particular emphasis was placed on the energy stories of women who were actively involved in the project as well as on the challenges of implementing socially inclusive climate policies within Greece’s complex and evolving policy environment.
