The discussion emphasised the critical need for cities to enhance their resilience to climate change impacts, such as extreme weather events, the necessity for sustainable infrastructure, and the need to support municipalities in adapting to new climate conditions through educational programmes and collaborative projects. Emphasis was also given to the need for local application and active citizen participation.
During the session, it was also highlighted how the EU Climate Pact fosters cooperation and action at the EU level to tackle the climate crisis, contributing to the resilience of cities across Europe.
