INZEB in collaboration with Wind of Renewal is organising a film screening event of WISE – Women in Solidarity for Energy project, which will take place on Tuesday, April 15 2025, at 17:30 – 19:30, at the Cultural Center of the City of Athens, in the “Antonis Tritsis” Hall.
During the event we will screen three short documentaries exploring different aspects of energy poverty in various countries. Afterwards, we will discuss the issue of energy vulnerability, and the difficulties many households face in paying for basic essential energy services. Emphasis will be given to the wider social, economic, and policy factors behind it, with a special focus on the gender aspect: how energy poverty affects single women and female-headed households.
With the overarching aim of empowering single women to participate in co-developing policies and practices that address their needs, the WISE project activities aim to strengthen awareness of EU rights and values regarding the just energy transition, promote social cohesion and solidarity between women from different cultural backgrounds and generations, and support the active participation of women in the formulation of policies related to their needs for affordable energy.
WISE is a two-year project with partners from seven European countries working together to combine awareness raising, building knowledge, and solidarity actions to eradicate energy injustices that negatively impact single women (young women, single mothers, elderly women, and female migrants) in Europe.
The event is in Greek language.
