Everyday Climate – Greener Choices, Real Life | Vol.3: Waste Not: A Beginner’s Guide to Composting at Home

Organic waste accounts for a significant portion of household trash, yet most of it is disposed of in landfills, contributing to methane emissions and climate change. Composting is a simple, cost-effective, and climate-friendly solution that anyone can adopt at home. INZEB, the EU Climate Pact Country Coordinator for Greece, in collaboration with EUROPE DIRECT Central Macedonia and PERROTIS COLLEGE, invite you to the third session of the online series “Everyday Climate – Greener Choices, Real Life”, which aims to make sustainability more accessible and actionable for citizens.

The session, titled “Waste Not: A Beginner’s Guide to Composting at Home”, will take place on Thursday, November 20th, 2025, from 15:00 to 16:30 EET, and will explain composting, show how it can be integrated into any living situation, and empower participants to close the loop on their food waste.

During the session, we will explore:

  • The environmental impact of food waste and the role of composting in climate action.
  • Different types of composting systems suitable for apartments, balconies, or gardens.
  • Common myths and mistakes, and how to overcome them.
  • Easy first steps and local resources to help you get started.

Whether you live in an urban apartment or a rural home, this session will help you turn your food scraps into a powerful climate solution.
