A few days ago, on Monday, July 1, 2024, we had the privilege of recording the second TV Broadcast for the EU Climate Pact on the topic of climate neutrality in Greek cities. EU Climate Pact Ambassador Andreas Vassilopoulos and INZEB’s Managing Director and Country Coordinator for the EU Climate Pact Alice Corovessi moderated the insightful discussion with experts Panagiotis T. Nastos, Professor of Climatology at the Laboratory of Climatology and Atmospheric Environment, Department of Geology & Geoenvironment, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and EU Climate Pact Ambassador Angelos Chasiotis, Mechanical & Aeronautical Engineer, and Scientific Associate & PhD Candidate at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
Focusing on climate change and Greece’s path to climate neutrality the panel showcased the current state of climate neutrality in the Greek cities and its significance to the everyday life of citizens. The invited experts explained the impact of thermal comfort and high thermal stress on daily urban lives, and emphasised the import of understanding climate change and climate variability. Methods to achieve climate neutrality were also presented.
