Helping Homes Become Resilient in Climate Affected Greece | Thessaly Local Event

On Thursday, 2 July 2026, INZEB will organise a local event to present the results of the project “Helping Homes Become Resilient in Climate Affected Greece”. The event will take place at the Town Hall of Mouzaki, Karditsa, from 10:00 to 13:00.

The project, implemented by INZEB and co-funded by the European Climate Foundation, explores the lived experiences of the communities affected by the Storm Daniel in Thessaly (2023) and the earthquake in Arkalochori, Crete (2021), highlighting the social, emotional and physical dimensions of housing, in the context of the increasing impacts of the extreme weather events in Greece.

The project aims to contribute to improving recovery policies and strengthening social resilience through sustainability-oriented, targeted policy recommendations, as part of a broader national and European climate recovery strategy.

The event programme will include:

  • Opening remarks by the Mayor of Mouzaki, Mr. Theofanis Stathis
  • Presentation of the project and the key findings of the field research
  • Video screening featuring interviews with residents from the two affected areas
  • Presentation of the project’s conclusions and policy recommendations
  • Open discussion with citizens

We are looking forward to welcoming you and fostering the dialogue on strengthening the resilience of the communities affected by climate crisis in Greece.
