The 1st SMAFIN Expanded LIFE22-CET roundtable in Greece was successfully organised on Thursday, March 30 2024. With the participation of 75 policymakers and experts from the energy and finance sectors, we collectively explored ways of improving existing financing and proposing new financing models for energy efficiency projects in sectors such as buildings, SMEs, and tertiary sector enterprises.
The introductory section featured Dimitris Kardomateas, President & Director General, Centre for Renewable Energy Sources and Saving (CRES), Charalampos Malamatenios, Head of Division for Energy Policy and Planning, Centre for Renewable Energy Sources and Saving (CRES), Eduardo Soares Antunes, Policy Officer, DG ENER, European Commission, Vicky Sita, Head of Division for Energy Policy and Energy Efficiency, Greek Ministry of Environment and Energy, Panagiotis Habesis, Head of Development Programs, Financing & Sustainability Unit, Hellenic Banking Association and Kiki Papadopoulou, Head of Dissemination of RES & EE Applications Department, Centre for Renewable Energy Sources and Saving (CRES).
Afterwards, three parallel sessions were held in the topics of Energy efficiency financing in private and public buildings at the national scale, Energy efficiency financing in private and public buildings under European funding and Energy efficiency financing in businesses. The policymakers and experts had the opportunity to participate, exchange views and delve into the subjects. The 1st SMAFIN Expanded LIFE22-CET roundtable in Greece concluded with the presentation of the conclusions of the three sessions.
The national RT in Greece was organised by the Centre for Renewable Energy Sources and Saving (CRES) and INZEB. SMAFIN_Expanded builds on the legacy of the SMAFIN project (2020-2023).
