INZEB, in collaboration with the EU Climate Pact community in Greece, is conducting a nationwide public opinion survey titled Urban Climate Pulse. This initiative explores how citizens in Greece perceive and experience the impacts of climate change in urban environments, and how they view the role of institutions, communities, and individuals in the face of increasing climate-related challenges.
The questionnaire investigates multiple dimensions of climate resilience in cities. These include public awareness of the effects of climate change, observed changes in local weather patterns and urban living conditions, and the extent to which citizens feel prepared to deal with extreme climate events. Respondents are also asked to reflect on how they perceive local authorities’ efforts, their own level of trust in institutional responses, and their sense of inclusion in shaping relevant policies. A dedicated section focuses on citizens’ outlook for the coming decades and the priorities they consider essential for a just and effective climate transition by 2040.
Basic demographic and socioeconomic data are also collected, including age, gender, region of residence, education level, and professional status. These data provide a broader understanding of how perceptions and attitudes may vary across population groups. The questionnaire does not collect any personal or identifiable information, and all responses remain anonymous.
Participation is voluntary. Respondents may withdraw at any time. The survey is available only in Greek and is addressed to residents of Greece. It takes approximately 10 to 12 minutes to complete.
The first results will be presented during the 3rd National Meeting of the EU Climate Pact in Greece, scheduled for 20 February 2026 in Athens. A comprehensive public report will follow and will be accessible via INZEB’s official website.
The survey remains open until Sunday, 8 February 2026.
