Investor Confidence Project (ICP)

Unlocking capital for energy efficiency projects

Industrial and Infrastructure Investor Confidence Project extended the successful standardisation approach of the Investor Confidence Project beyond buildings and into Industry and Infrastructure. It utilised a similar approach to the Horizon 2020 funded ICP EU project which developed standardisation for building energy efficiency projects. It developed standardised Protocols and associated tools (Project Development Specifications, Index of National Resources and Templates) for energy efficiency projects in industry and infrastructure – specifically street lighting and district energy. It had a European wide communications plan, as well as work in five specific countries, building on the work of ICPEU. It also developed and deployed training for Project Developers and Quality Assurance providers. Using the eco-system of Project Developers and its own networks the project engaged with project developers to certify projects and programmes as being Investor Ready Energy Efficiency (IREE). It dedicated technical assistance resources to helping project owners and project developers to adopt IREE. It also dedicated specific resources to working with financial institutions to help them incorporate IREE into their investment and lending procedures.

The role of INZEB

INZEB was an external partner of the Investor Confidence Project contributing to the dissemination and exploitation of the project in Greece. Specifically, an introductory 2-hour webinar was organised on Wednesday 31 May 2017 aiming to introduce ICP to various national stakeholders. Two technical webinars were also organised on Wednesday 28 June 2017 and Thursday 29 June 2017. The first technical workshop was dedicated to the ICP Project Developer (PD) certification while the second one was dedicated to the ICP Quality Assurance Provider (QAP) certification. A number of individual engineers, real estate companies and real estate developers were certified upon the completion of the technical workshops. INZEB also introduced to Greek stakeholders the Investor Confidence Project (ICP) Street Lighting Protocol and the Investor Confidence Project (ICP) Industry Protocols through two tailored webinars on Thursday 28 June 2018 and Tuesday 10 July 2018 respectively.
The ICP Street Lighting and Industry Protocols were translated in Greek by INZEB and are available at the ICP website here and here.

Within this framework the following webinars were organised by INZEB:

• Wednesday 31 May 2017 – Introduction to the Investor Confidence Project Webinar
• Wednesday 28 June 2017 – ICP Project Developer (PD) Webinar
• Thursday 29 June 2017 – ICP Quality Assurance Provider (QAP) Webinar
• Thursday 28 June 2018 – Investor Confidence Project (ICP) Street Lighting Protocol Webinar
• Tuesday 10 July 2018 – Investor Confidence Project (ICP) Industry Protocols Webinar

Many dissemination activities also took place in Greece, among them the organisation of a dedicated workshop within the frame of the 18th Prodexpo (October 2017).
