The online, open discussion “Tackling Energy Poverty, Energy Savings and the role of Municipalities”, organised by the Municipal Party Movement “Citizens in Action of Chaidari”, is taking place on Monday 24 January 2022, at 19.00 – 21.00 EET.

Alice Corovessi, Managing Director of INZEB, Vice President of the Energy Community WEnCoop and as a member of the H2020 POWERPOOR consortium, will be among the speakers of the discussion and will present the role and the tools of the POWERPOOR project and how these can contribute to tackling energy poverty and the benefits of being engaged in an Energy Community. The discussion will also join Vassilis Tsolakidis, former President of the Center for Renewable Energy Sources (CRES), Varlamitis Costas, former President of the Deposits and Loans Fund and Andreou Maya, Electrical Engineer and President of the Attica Energy Community.

The three main issues that will be raised are:

  • The role of the Local Municipalities being well connected to citizens and in words but also in deeds;
  • The benefits of self-production and self-consumption of energy by citizens at a local level utilising, among others, the Energy Communities model.

The discussion will broadcast live on the Facebook page and the Youtube channel of “Chaidari Today”, while you may connect directly to the Zoom meeting by registering HERE.
