INZEB participated in the 2025 Buildings Strategy Days: A Space for Ideas, Strategy, and Action

ΙΝΖΕΒ privileged to join the 2025 Buildings Strategy Days, held from 14 to 15 October at the Public Library in Mechelen, Belgium. Organised by the European Climate Foundation, this annual gathering brought together a committed group of stakeholders working to accelerate the decarbonisation of Europe’s buildings. Over the course of one and a half days, participants reflected on how to sustain the transition toward climate-neutral buildings in a complex political landscape, while keeping affordability and social equity at the centre of the discussion.

Throughout the event, we engaged in strategic conversations with fellow partners and experts, shared lessons from our work, and explored future collaborations. One of the highlights of our participation was the opportunity to present our new project, “Helping Homes Become Resilient in Climate-Affected Greece”, funded by the European Climate Foundation.

This project focuses on the regions of Thessaly and Crete, which have recently experienced major climate-related disasters, including floods and an earthquake. It aims to examine how renovation policies can become more emotionally resonant, inclusive, and socially just by integrating the lived experiences of those directly affected. Rather than seeing homes solely as physical structures, we approached them as symbols of safety, dignity, and recovery.

The 2025 Buildings Strategy Days offered a timely and valuable space to exchange ideas, challenge assumptions, and reaffirm the importance of people-centred policies in the climate transition.

We left Mechelen energised and grateful for the opportunity to be part of this community.
