INZEB at KALAMATA 2030 Event

On Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the amphitheatre of the Cultural Centre of Kalamata, the city’s strategic plan and progress was presented as part of its participation in the “European Mission: 100 Climate Neutral and Smart Cities by 2030”. The event was an inspiring presentation of strategies, projects and actions aligned with Kalamata’s Climate City Contract.

The Climate Neutral and Smart Cities 2030 Mission aims to achieve climate neutrality in 100 European cities by 2030. These cities will serve as hubs of innovation and examples to follow, paving the way for all European cities to achieve the same goal by 2050.

INZEB, as the EU Climate Pact Country Coordinator for Greece, was honoured to be present and actively support Kalamata’s journey toward climate neutrality and sustainability. Alongside us, several dedicated EU Climate Pact Ambassadors joined the dialogue, such as Nasos Makios, Dr Alexandra Politaki, Marianna Rappou and Dimitris Kollias, contributing with expertise and commitment to citizen engagement, climate action, and systemic change.

Kalamata 2030 is not just a local aspiration, but a European-level model of collaborative, forward-thinking urban transformation.

We would like to thank Vassilis Papaefstathiou, Deputy Mayor of Strategic Planning and Climate Neutrality Municipality of Kalamata, for the invitation and the impressive work.
