INZEB participated in the EUROPE DIRECT General Meeting, organised by the European Commission (DG Communication), on 12–13 March 2026 in Brussels, following an invitation to contribute to discussions on cooperation among EU networks operating at the local and regional levels across Europe. INZEB was represented at the meeting by its Managing Director, Alice Corovessi.
The meeting brought together EUROPE DIRECT centres and representatives of several European networks, creating a platform for exchange on how European initiatives can better connect with citizens and communities across Europe. As part of the programme, INZEB contributed to the workshop “Building community and working across EU networks: why & how”, which explored practical ways to strengthen cooperation between EU networks and enhance joint outreach at the local level.
During the session, INZEB shared the experience of the European Climate Pact community in Greece, highlighting how the initiative mobilises citizens, organisations and local actors around climate action. The presentation also included examples of collaboration between the European Climate Pact and EUROPE DIRECT offices in Greece, demonstrating how cooperation between EU networks can strengthen citizen engagement, support community building and increase the visibility of European initiatives at the local level.
The meeting also offered an important opportunity to connect and exchange with EUROPE DIRECT representatives from across Europe, while further strengthening dialogue with the EUROPE DIRECT offices in Greece. These discussions opened space to reflect on how existing collaborations can be further developed and what additional joint initiatives could be implemented in the coming period.
The workshop brought together representatives from several European networks, including Euroguidance, Europass, InformEU, CERV, EULC, Trade Champion & TED, SOLVIT, the European Consumer Centres and the Climate Pact Ambassadors, fostering a constructive exchange on community building, cross-network cooperation and the organisation of joint initiatives, including activities around Europe Day.
INZEB thanks DG Communication for the invitation and the opportunity to contribute to this dialogue with colleagues from across Europe working to strengthen the connection between European policies and local communities.
