National EU Climate Pact Event – Navigating Climate Challenges in Greece

INZEB, as the Country Coordinator for Greece of the EU Climate Pact, is organising the National EU Climate Pact event, with the support of the Representation of the European Commission in Greece. This pivotal gathering, scheduled to transpire in Athens on Friday, January 26, 2024, aspires to convene a diverse assembly of environmental enthusiasts, policymakers, youth representatives, educational institutions, and Climate Pact Ambassadors at the Impact Hub Athens. The purpose of this day-long event is to facilitate substantive discussions, knowledge exchange, and strategic planning concerning critical climate issues.

 

Commencing at 09:30 and concluding at 15:30 (EET), the six-hour agenda will encompass a blend of welcoming addresses, elucidative presentations, and interactive dialogues involving key stakeholders. The proceedings will commence with an overview of the Climate Pact Initiative, elucidating its objectives and aspirations. The subsequent focus will pivot towards an exploration of Greece’s national climate policy and challenges, encouraging active engagement and collaborative ideation for sustainable solutions. Moreover, an exclusive closed session is earmarked for Climate Pact Ambassadors, fostering in-depth discussions and strategic planning to enhance the efficacy of climate action.

 

Noteworthy sessions include a Climate Diplomacy Business-to-Business (B2B) Discussion, centred on the recently disseminated opinion by the European Economic and Social Committee on “EU Climate Diplomacy”. The Youth and Climate Session, meticulously organised by Education for Climate (E4C), will delve into topics such as educators mobilising pupils for climate action and sharing inspirational narratives. Furthermore, the Climate Pact Ambassadors for Climate Action session will showcase concise presentations on inspiring stories, best practices, and lessons learned, fostering interaction with the audience.
