Join us on Wednesday, 26 June 2024, from 13:30 to 15:00 for the EU Climate Pact event, “Green Skills for a Sustainable and Environmentally-Conscious Economy and Society”. This online event, organized by INZEB, the Country Coordinator for Greece for the EU Climate Pact, in collaboration with the Research Center ATHENA, Athens University of Business and Economics, and the Alliance of Excellence for Research and Innovation on Aeiphoria (AE4RIA), will explore the critical role of green skills in fostering sustainable and environmentally conscious economies and societies. With a vision for a sustainable, climate-proof future, the event will emphasise lifelong learning to empower individuals and companies to drive green and digital transitions, support innovation, and enhance competitiveness.
The key objectives are to present and discuss the concept of green skills while we will address how green skills can tackle climate challenges and demonstrate their contribution to a sustainable and environmentally aware economy and society. Additionally, the event will facilitate the exchange of best practices.
Following the event, we anticipate that participants will recognise the value and necessity of green skills, transfer this knowledge to education institutions and youth networks, and replicate the actions while promoting the knowledge and experience gained through local and regional events.
The event will host presentations from Professor Phoebe Koundouri, Athens University of Economics and Business & Technical University of Denmark, Chair UN SDSN Global Climate Hub, Director Sustainable Development Unit of Athena Research Center; Director AE4RIA; Conrad Landis, Economist and Data Analyst, Post-Doc Researcher at the Research Laboratory on Socio-Economic and Environmental Sustainability, Athens University of Economics and Business; and Eleni Toli, Project Manager at “Athena” Research and Innovation Center. Alice Corovessi, Managing Director INZEB and Country Coordinator for the EU Climate Pact, will moderate the event.
The event will be held in Greek language.
