We are honoured to announce the National Climate Neutrality Event 2025, which will take place in Athens on 27–28 November 2025 at the NJV Athens Plaza Hotel in Syntagma Square.
The event is convened under the NetZeroCities programme, part of the EU Mission for 100 Climate Neutral and Smart Cities, in partnership with the Resilient Cities Network, with the support of the event partner INZEB.
The event comes as part of building on extensive work with the Greek Mission Cities. The event will bring forward shared priorities where national action can unlock city progress on climate neutrality in Greece – from access to finance and energy autonomy to mobility, green infrastructure, and governance, aiming to:
- Strengthen national–local collaboration for helping cities achieve climate neutrality.
- Unlock funding and financing mechanisms for climate action.
- Showcase best practices from Mission Cities in Greece and Europe.
- Support cities with practical tools, governance models, and citizen engagement strategies.
The focus of Day 1 (November 27, 2025) will be on governance, policy frameworks, and financing enablers, while Day 2 (November 28, 2025) will focus on capacity building, including peer-to-peer workshops, technical labs, and solution-oriented discussions.
The Opening Plenary Session will bring together high-level representatives from the European Commission, national ministries, and Mayors of the Mission Cities to reaffirm shared commitments and inspire collective action.
The two-day event will be held in Greek. For presentations and discussions in English on the first day, Thursday, November 27, 2025, interpretation into Greek will be available.
Participation in National Climate Neutrality Event 2025 is by invitation only.
