EU Climate Pact goes to Peloponnese! Our second stop: the city of Tripolis.
“Harvesting Sustainability in the Region of Peloponnese: How Energy Communities Agriculture, and Circular Economy are Shaping the Future” will be held at the Malliaropoulio Theater in Tripolis, on Thursday 16 of May 2024. It is organised by INZEB and EUROPE DIRECT Peloponnisos, with the support of the SUSTAINABLE CITY Network.
The event will be divided in three focused sessions: the first, “Energy Communities And Their Contribution To Energy Transition”, will address the role of energy communities in the energy transition, emphasising youth participation; the second session, “Circular Economy: The Role Of Cities And Citizens”, will discuss the impact of circular economy strategies on reducing environmental impacts while boosting local economies; and the third, ”Navigating Climate Challenges in Modern Agriculture”, will examine the interplay between modern agriculture and climate challenges, highlighting technological innovations that enhance resilience and productivity. The participants will engage directly with experts and practitioners at the forefront of sustainable development and learn about actionable solutions and practical applications that can be implemented locally to make the Region of Peloponnese more resilient and sustainable.
The event will be prefaced by local actors of the Region of Peloponnese and the Municipality of Tripolis, and the Secretary General of the Central Union of Municipalities in Greece. The lineup of speakers include:

Our goal is to raise awareness in the local community and beyond, on the issue of climate change but to also promote the search for solutions that could be implemented at local level, considering the specificities of the region, and focusing on the future of young people in the area.
