Dialogue on Climate Justice and Diplomacy

There has been no time like now when the world must engage in joint practices about environmental governance. While not a panacea, climate diplomacy and climate justice are essential cornerstones in addressing global climate challenges. Climate diplomacy is fundamental to ensure that the world’s leaders are conversing with each other, not just with their citizens, thus creating favourable conditions for agreements like the Paris Agreement. Climate justice is recognising that climate change impacts vary from region to region. Consequently, it retains the task of bridging these gaps and disparities by pressing for negotiations about measures that defend the interests of the communities and vulnerable groups.

INZEB, the Country Coordinator for Greece for the EU Climate Pact, is holding the 90-minute online event Dialogue on Climate Justice and Diplomacy in Greece on Friday, 26 April 2024, at 16.00 (EEST).

The event aims to increase participants’ knowledge about the role of climate diplomacy and climate justice in addressing climate change, and their role in promoting environmental governance. To demonstrate, furthermore, the necessity of solutions and mechanisms within climate agreements to ensure equal support for vulnerable groups, communities, and regions. The event’s final objective is to empower participants to understand the power of advocacy for governments to pursue climate agreements protecting vulnerable populations.

The event will be held in Greek language.
