On the occasion of the EU Day for the Victims of the Global Climate Crisis, commemorated each year on 15 July, INZEB, in its capacity as the Country Coordinator for the European Climate Pact in Greece, organised an online event on Friday, 10 July 2026.
Aiming to create a space of dialogue on the impacts of the climate crisis, at a time when Europe is experiencing severe weather events with environmental consequences but also profound social, economic and humanitarian implications, the event featured contributions from representatives of local authorities, civil society organisations, and European Climate Pact Ambassadors.
Participants reflected on lessons learned and shared lived experiences from recent disasters focusing on the importance of community resilience, disaster preparedness and response, as well as the role of humanitarian support and citizen engagement.
