Energy Poverty Mitigation at National and Local Levels is the main topic to be addressed at the Info Day organised by the Organisation for Local Development Anatoliki S.A. in collaboration with the Municipality of Ampelokipi-Menemeni. The Info Day, scheduled to take place on January 20th, 2023, is part of the national activities promoting the services and activities of the Energy Poverty Advisory Hub (EPAH).
Maria Spyraki, Member of the European Parliament, Member of the ENVI and ITRE Committees is invited and will provide the welcome address.
Distinguished speakers will analyse the energy poverty phenomenon and its implications to citizens’ everyday life while mitigation actions will be discussed, highlighting the role of local governments and the need for the latter to develop and implement tailored strategies.
The General Secretary of Ampelokipi-Menemeni Municipality, Athanasios Papageorgiou will present the initiatives of the municipality to alleviate energy poverty also including information for the Technical Assistance that the municipality is receiving by EPAH.
The effective policies to tackle the energy poverty in municipalities, showcasing the example of the Ampelokipi – Menemeni Municipality is the key topic to be presented by Alice Corovessi, Managing Director at INZEB and Vice-Chair of the Renovate Europe Campaign for 2022-2023. INZEB is the expert organisation guiding the activities for the development of energy poverty diagnosis and mitigation for the Ampelokipi – Menemeni municipality.
The impact of the economic downturn on households’ energy status will be presented by Dr Sofia-Natalia Boemi, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki while the social impact of energy communities is the main topic to be presented by Kyriaki Metaxa, Heinrich Boell Stiftung, Thessaloniki Office, Greece. Last, the handbook on diagnosing and combating energy poverty will be presented by Athina Pana, Anatoliki S.A.
