The 2nd conference “Climate Change, Energy Crisis and Greece’s Net-Zero Transition: What are the options?”, is taking place on Tuesday 8 November 2022, at the Acropolis Museum. The conference is organised by Elliniki Etairia – Society for the Environment and Cultural Heritage and the Decision Support Systems Laboratory of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), within the framework of the EU-funded project, PARIS REINFORCE.
Alice Corovessi, Managing Director of INZEB, will be among the speakers, focusing her presentation on energy democracy and green transition. She will also refer to the phenomenon of energy poverty, how it is defined, the impact it has on the lives of citizens in developed and developing countries, approaching it as it is addressed within the POWERPOOR project.
The conference will constitute of panel discussion, raising the following topics:
- The national strategy towards dealing with the energy price shocks,
- the added value of energy democracy in the long-term transition,
- the role of businesses in today’s energy landscape, and
- the potential lying in renewables (and especially wind energy) in a socially just and environmentally effective pathway to net-zero.
