The first day of the Energy Poverty Advisory Hub (EPAH) Annual Conference featured a very interesting panel discussion on how energy poverty observatories can drive real impact in regards to energy poverty.
The session “How Can National Energy Poverty Observatories Support Both Local & National Governments”, moderated by our Managing Director, Alice Corovessi, explored how national observatories in Greece, Austria, Portugal, Romania, and the Netherlands drive coordinated action against energy poverty by supporting evidence-based local & national policymaking, foster cross-sector collaboration, and help build the capacity for targeted and inclusive interventions.
Representatives from each country shared their approaches to data collection, monitoring, and stakeholder engagement, highlighting how these structures help align national strategies with the real needs of communities.
Organised by the European Commission’s Directorate General for Energy, in collaboration with the Municipality of Athens and EPAH, and supported by the local EPAH antenna INZEB, the EPAH Annual Conference brought together Europe’s policymakers, local governments and experts to explore forward-thinking solutions for mitigating energy poverty, and discuss the role of integrated local action in supporting vulnerable households.
