Athens, Greece
From Tuesday, 17 March 2026, 09:00 EET, to Wednesday, 18 March 2026, 17:00 EET, Athens will host the Energy Poverty Advisory Hub (EPAH) Annual Conference.
Organised by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Energy, in collaboration with the City of Athens and the Energy Poverty Advisory Hub and supported by the local EPAH antenna INZEB, this high-level, flagship conference will bring together Europe’s policymakers, local governments, practitioners, and technical experts committed to addressing energy poverty as a growing structural challenge across Europe.
As millions of European citizens are increasingly affected by rising energy costs, limited household incomes, and poor building performance, the 2026 EPAH Annual conference will explore forward-thinking, people-centred solutions for mitigating energy poverty, and highlight the critical role of integrated local action in supporting vulnerable households.
In particular, the conference aims to:
- Inspire action by showcasing practical solutions and innovative approaches from across Europe.
- Share new insights and key lessons from the EPAH initiative and its work with local governments.
- Elevate the needs of municipalities and foster collaboration to accelerate effective action and long-term change.
Athens, which is actively advancing social equality and the energy transition, provides an ideal setting for this event. The city’s close collaboration with the local EPAH antenna INZEB and its strong commitment to community-driven initiatives create an inspiring background to explore how local actors can drive sustainable and inclusive change.
Over the two-day conference, participants will engage in keynote discussions featuring policymakers and senior representatives from EU, national, and local levels, panel discussions involving constructive debate and interactive sessions, workshops showcasing practical insights and good practices, and a site visit highlighting successful initiatives in Athens and their impact on the community. By combining strategic vision with practical exchange, the conference offers a unique opportunity for networking, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing.
The event will be held in person, with the panel discussions of the first day available in hybrid format via livestream.
