A few months after the successful implementation of the 1st National Roundtable of SMAFIN Expanded in Greece, organised by the Centre for Renewable Energy Sources and Energy Saving and INZEB, on May 2024, the 2nd Working Group Meeting took place online on Thursday, November 14th, 2024.
With the minutes, factsheets, and key outcomes of the plenary and the three parallel sessions of the 1st Roundtable already available, the members of the Working Group gathered to evaluate and discuss in detail the results. In addition, insights were provided into the evolving legal framework in energy and environmental policy within the European Union, and the present current policy priorities in the field of energy efficiency were presented. The significance of integrating ESG discussions was showcased, as mean of increasing the involvement of the financial sector in particular, as well as the need to streamline bureaucracy.
Overall, the meeting highlighted the importance of collaboration in addressing challenges related to energy efficiency, financing mechanisms, and ESG integration for SMEs.
